What is the warranty on the COOK-AIR BBQ?

BBQ Europe s.r.o. guarantees the COOK-AIR BBQ against all defects in materials and parts for a period of one year from the date of purchase.

What kind of wood should I use with my COOK-AIR BBQ?

You can use either pieces of dry hardwood (maple, cherry, apple, oak or other) or compressed bricks (without wax or chemicals) made of sawdust. You can also use wood charcoal if you do not have access to natural wood.

Can I make my own wood?

Yes. The taste of the food will be at its best if you use chunks of dry wood. Each variety of hardwood will give a different flavor to the foods.

What size of wood chunks should I use in my COOK-AIR BBQ?

Hardwood chunks should ideally measure less than 5 cm (2'') in thickness about 5 cm (2 '') in width and no more than 7.5 cm (3 ") in length. Branches up to 5 cm (2 '') in diameter can also be used, if they are cut in lengths of less than 7.5 cm (3 ").

Can I use charcoal briquettes or wood pellets in my COOK-AIR BBQ?

No. The COOK-AIR works at its best only with hardwood or wood charcoal.

Can I use resin wood like cedar, fir or pine?

It is not recommended to use these types of wood with the BBQ because they can create lots of sparks.

Can I add wood while I’m cooking?

Yes. You can add wood as required during cooking, very safely as described in the operating manual.

How many wood pieces should I put in the combustion chamber?

To start, we recommend using only one piece of wood. When the fire is lit, you can add wood as required but do not fill the combustion chamber with more than 3/4 of its capacity otherwise the burning could be affected and as a result produce black smoke.

What kind of fire starter can I use to start my COOK-AIR BBQ?

The recommended fire starter is non-chemical paraffin wax or waxed wood shavings. Crumped paper can also be used as a starter.

Can I use alcohol or liquid fuel to start or to boost my cooking fire?

No. Do not use flammable liquid with the COOK-AIR BBQ because you could damage it.

What is the cooking surface of the COOK-AIR BBQ?

The cooking surface is 30cm in diameter, enough to cook 3 big steaks or 8 hamburgers at the same time.

Is the COOK-AIR BBQ safe?

Yes. It does not use explosive fuel nor propane. It is also ready for cooking in less than 5 minutes.

Do I need to put my COOK-AIR BBQ on a special surface when in usage?

COOK-AIR BBQ is the safest grill on the market. Its base remains cold even though the cooking surface reaches temperatures over 400C. Therefore, you can use your COOK-AIR BBQ grill on a plastic table for example.

How long does it take for my COOK-AIR BBQ to be ready to cook?

You start up the unit and about four to five minutes later you are ready to cook your hamburgers, hot dogs, chops, steaks, sausages, chicken, fish or any other food of your choice.

How do I control the cooking temperature?

Choose the degree of heat required for the foods that you wish to cook by varying the speed of the fan using the command and also by adding wood as required.

Can l smoke food with my COOK-AIR BBQ?

COOK-AIR BBQ is not a smoker, but it allows you to get this sought-after smoky flavor taste by cooking on a wood fire. It is a simple technique explained in the operating manual.

How is the COOK-AIR BBQ powered?

There are three different ways of powering up the COOK-AIR BBQ;
- With the electric adaptor, which requires a 12 volt DC power source.
- With 8 "D" type batteries.
- With the car cigarette lighter adapter included in the accessories kit.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

Yes

How long will my batteries last?

Depending on the quality of the batteries, approximately 20hours of cooking.

Does the COOK-AIR BBQ create a lot of smoke?

COOK-AIR BBQ can reach very high temperatures in a record time. It is a grill designed for the outdoors and it produces smoke. We recommend always removing the extra fat from your food as well as any excessive marinade from your meat of choice in order to reduce the risk of outbreaks and excessive smoke.

Does the COOK-AIR BBQ require maintenance?

The COOK-AIR BBQ is a high-tech BBQ. A minimal, regular maintenance will ensure many years of usage.

Does the COOK-AIR BBQ create lots of ashes?

No. The advanced technology of the COOK-AIR BBQ allows a maximum combustion of the wood. At the end of a cooking session there is usually a small quantity of ashes, about the size of a quarter.

How should I clean my COOK-AIR BBQ after cooking?

To clean the combustion chamber, allow the BBQ time to cool down. Then, set the command of the fan at low speed (level 1), remove the cooking grate and start removing residues of ashes from the combustion chamber in a circular motion, using the supplied brush. Dispose of the ashes in a safe manner and ensure that the combustion chamber is free from all residues.

Can I leave my COOK-AIR BBQ outside when I am not using it?

COOK-AIR BBQ uses an electric blower. Therefore, it is highly recommended to store it in a dry area between usage in order to protect it from the rain or any other weather conditions.
